7/6 Tokyo Disneyland!

Splash Mountain!

Saving Disney for last was a risky choice given the fact that June is the rainy month in Japan. And rain it did. All. day. long. We were determined to not let the rain put a damper on our spirits, however. (So glad I brought raincoats for our entire family!)

yummy lunch in the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall

the rain did not keep the crowds away

we had great seats for this show!

we bought a very expensive towel to keep Isla dry and warm

It's a Small World was a hit with the kids, especially Isla!

We loved Pooh's Honey Hut!

Clara and I did Splash Mountain just as the fireworks were ending. We were the only ones on the ride!

Sunday

Mrs. Higashitani always treats us so well. She brought a yummy breakfast to our room.

these girls have bright futures!
The always kind Tae-san

Clara and James both did great in their primary classes (I was worried about the language barrier). Clara's teacher told me she was so impressed with how much Clara understand and her ability to read.

7/4 Tokyo with Cleveland Friends!

first, a quick lunch at the train station

On 7/4 we explored Odaiba with some friends from Cleveland. It seemed appropriate that it was Independence Day.

happy reunion!

We went to the Fuji TV building

ugh, everything is so yummy and cute

Natsuko, me, Azumi, Azumi's friend, and Asami

Then we went to a science museum for children

Then we met up with Sato for dinner

Then we checked into a guestroom that the Higashitani family had reserved for us. It was soooo nice to have our own place where my own family could all sleep comfortably!

Isla is almost standing!
